Slow Life. Vicious Circle. is the mantra that the glider in Marcel Duchamp’s, “The Bride Stripped Bare By Her Bachelors Even” sings as it swings. This back and forth facilitates movement of the nine maleic molds. In this piece, those litanies are transformed into paper doll cutouts and children’s games.
Slow Life. that place you go when you need dream time and the hand of the one who knows your needs.
Onanism. What to do? What to do.? It’s that thing your mom warned you about. Every bit of pleasure comes with ten times the shame. A “Spin The Wheel” game with a working spinner. Gamble your life away for pleasure.
Eccentric Wooden Pulleys. Activate crude toys. A rocking duck, a rocking nose, and a rocking horse. String pulley not included.
Tin, Cords, Iron Wire. You lived life and pursued your dreams only to find an archaeologist digging through your trash in 2525. Cut them out and add to the pile.
Slow Life. Vicious Circle. In the material world, are hand-pulled lithographs. Each 30”x 22” image was printed on D’Arches 100% rag paper. A run of 10 unique prints were printed in an edition of 5. The edition was then laminated and packaged in a plastic envelope that included the logos of the litany “Slow Life. Vicious Circle”.
