For me, painting and making art is about the abstract components of the process, Not the subject matter. I am interested in a variety of subjects or the “state of the human condition”. But, I’m not painting to make a photo. Rather, when I paint I use the fundamentals of painting to tell my story about the subject at hand. Here are examples of paintings that documented my travels to beautiful places, faces, and subjects that I painted poems about. When a poet writes poetry, a musician plays an instrument or a dancer creates emotion through patterns and rhythms, we call that art.
